RE: 2011 Johns Creek/GRPA State Swim Team
The City of Johns Creek Recreation and Parks Division (JCRPD) would like to invite you and your swim team to be a part of the 2011 City of Johns Creek/GRPA State Swim Team! This “all-star” swim team will compete in the Georgia Recreation & Parks Association (GRPA) State Swim Meet July 22nd and 23rd in Carrollton, GA.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
The 2011 team shall be comprised of swimmers who meet one of the following criteria and qualifies at the ASA Championship Meet:
1) Swimmer is a resident of the City of Johns Creek who participates on any team inside or outside of the city limits.
2) Swimmer is a non-resident of the City of Johns Creek, as long as the swimmer resides within Fulton County, who goes to school within the city limits.
3) Swimmer is a member of a swim team (during the season - min 60 days) that is based within the city limits of Johns Creek, including residents and non-residents of the City of Johns Creek, as long as the swimmer resides within Fulton County. Teams within the city limits include
Cambridge, Chartwell, CC of The South, Doublegate, Falls of Autry Mill, Foxdale Reserve,
Glastonberry, Haynes Landing, Highland Park, Hillbrooke, Mayfair/St. Clair, Medlock Bridge,
Oxford Mill, Pinewalk, Seven Oaks, Shakerag, St. Ives, Sugar Mill, and Wellington.
4) Eligibility involving non-residents who are not an integral part of the City of Johns Creek program shall be determined by the Recreation & Park Manager.

HOW DOES A SWIMMER DECLARE ELIGIBILITY FOR J.C.A.T.?
Eligible swimmers who are interested in qualifying for a spot on J.C.A.T. MUST indicate their intent by placing JC6 in front of their first name when submitting their entry form for the ASA League Championship Meet. This will allow staff to determine eligible swimmers on meet day. **Only times from the ASA Championship Meet will be used to qualify swimmers for the J.C.S.T.

WHO MAKES THE J.C.A.T.?
Only swimmers 7 years of age and up are eligible to qualify for Johns Creek Swim Team. The top 3 designated finishers in each event will qualify for the Johns Creek Swim Team. In addition, up to 12 of the top freestyle finishers in each age group will qualify to swim freestyle relays for Johns Creek Swim Team.

J.C.A.T. REGISTRATION FOR QUALIFIED SWIMMERS
Swimmers who qualify will be required to commit and register for the J.C.A.T on the day of the qualifying meet. At the time of registration, JCRPD must receive a program registration form (available on site), a copy of the swimmer’s birth certificate (if not already on file), a signed agreement form (available on site) and payment for team fees. Team fees include state meet entry fees, a t-shirt, a swim cap, coaching and pool rental. Non-residents of Johns Creek will be required to pay a 50% non-resident fee.
Swimmers will be financially responsible for any scratch fees incurred for failure to show up at their scheduled state event(s). Swimmers are also financially responsible for travel expenses to & from the State Meet (lodging, transportation, meals, etc.) Listed below are some important dates as they pertain to J.C.S.T.:

• June 26 – Sunday, June 26 by 12noon is the deadline for team entries (intent to qualify) to be submitted to Atlanta Swim Association (ASA) for League Championship Meet.
• June 27 – Deadline for birth certificates to be turned into the City of Johns Creek Recreation & Parks Division by all swimmers that have the intent to compete in state if they qualify.
• June 30 - ASA League Championship Meet at Georgia Tech – *qualifier for eligible J.C.A.T. swimmers.
• July 22 & July 23 - GRPA State Championship in Carrollton, GA. We hope that you will consider qualifying for the City of Johns Creek Swim Team! This will be an exciting fourth year that will be challenging for the swimmers but will lead to great accomplishments and without a doubt a lot of fun!
