Stretching Instruction

Pectoralis Stretch-

 

Stand in a doorway with your elbows at shoulder height.

 

Step forward through the doorway with your chest high and your tummy tight until you feel a stretch on the front of your shoulder.

 

Do not overstretch!!!

 

Hold position for 20 seconds and repeat 3 times.

Posterior Capsule Stretch-

Reach across your body towards the opposite shoulder keeping your elbow at chest height.

 

With your opposite hand, gently pull elbow further across your chest until you feel a slight stretch on the back side of your shoulder.

 

Hold position for 20 seconds and repeat 3 times.

Standing Inferior Capsule Stretch-

Raise your arm up next to your ear with your elbow bent behind your head.

 

With your opposite hand, gently pull elbow further behind your head until you feel a slight stretch on the front side of your shoulder under your arm pit.

 

Hold position for 20 seconds and repeat 3 times.
